places to visit

We have a wonderful assortment of places to visit.... there is sure to be something for everyone. We have all the Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt homes and museums. Once you are at one, you can get a ticket on the shuttle to take you to others plus the Vanderbilt Mansion. Of course, you won't want to miss the Culinary Institute of America. This is a world renowned school for the culinary arts with four public restaurants. (our house would be a great place if you are coming for Culinary Boot Camp.) If shopping is your thing, we are only 10 minutes from Rhinebeck with all its charm and great small shops. Going 10 minutes the other way, you come to Poughkeepsie with its Walkway Over The Hudson.

OutDoors Activities

For the outdoors enthusiast, we have a whole network of maintained hiking and biking trails which go through forests and along the Hudson River. We have maps for your use. You can rent kayaks from The River Connection and paddle the river. On the quieter side, we still have one of the last remaining drive in theaters here in Hyde Park. This attraction is open from April to October.
